RAF Brize Norton chefs have stepped up to the plate to deliver an unorthodox Christmas meal to the homeless in Oxford.
Chefs Sergeant Justin Collings and Senior Aircraftsmen Alan Llewellyn and Dean Williams cooked up an Italian-style feast for 25 people in the Brize Norton kitchen on Tuesday.
The food was delivered to The Steppin’ Stone Centre in East Oxford, which offers a place for the vulnerably housed to get a hot meal and shelter.
SAC Williams said the idea was to move away from an impersonal donation of money to the charity and turn the gesture into a memorable occasion for chefs and diners.
He said: “The feedback was great and it was a very rewarding experience, it’s definitely something we would be keen to do again.”
