WHEN it came to acting in a TV advert seen by millions, Max Webb wasn’t chicken.

Max, from Margaret Road, Headington, has a starring role in KFC’s cheeky Christmas advert.

The tongue-in-cheek commercial, The Taste That Unites, sees angry neighbours and warring shoppers brought together at Christmas by the taste of the firm’s fried chicken.

Cheney School pupil Max plays one of a gang of boys who break a neighbour’s window with a snowball but are forgiven by the owners who are apparently overwhelmed with goodwill by the food.

Max, 11, said: “I enjoyed it. It felt like I was famous with all the big cameras in front of us.

“We had to sit around a big table for the first day and all sing along to the song and hold the KFC towards the camera.

“On the second day we went to a house which they had done up with snow and Christmas decorations, then stood outside singing with a snowball in our hand. We were there all day. I don’t know how many takes we did, it was loads.”

Max only joined the Top Talent agency, which got him the part, six weeks ago. He signed up because his friend Cameron King, from Grove, was also signed up and said he would be good at it.

Cameron is set to start alongside Happy Days’ The Fonz – Henry Winkler – in a CBBC series next year.
