7:00am Monday 21st October 2013 in News
FLAGS adorned the faces of students as Headington School celebrated its annual languages day.
The event celebrated languages spoken and taught at the girls’ school in Headington Road, and raised £327 for Link Ethiopia, including £160 made in 15 minutes from cupcake sales.
Activities finished with a Euro Factor concert, with staff and students performing songs in different languages.
Art teacher Kate Turnbull, who sang Abba’s Money, Money, Money with head of languages Rachael Pike, said: “It was fabulous.”
Pupil Alex Graves, 16, said: “It’s been great. My favourite part has been the facepainting.”
Krissy Satherley, 16, of Moreton-in-Marsh in Gloucestershire, added: “It was great fun and I can’t wait until next year.”
And April Bedford, 13, of Marcham, near Abingdon, said: “It was funny seeing the teachers dress up.”
