A MOTHER-of-two has been given a suspended prison sentence after 220 stolen power tools were found in her shed.
Teresa Maughan, of Middle Ground travellers site, near Wheatley, admitted one count of handling stolen goods at her home on February 16 this year.
Oxford Crown Court heard on Friday the 42-year-old’s shed was searched by police, who found between £30,000 and £40,000 of power tools, ranging from lawn mowers to hand drills.
Isobel McCarrol, defending, said her client “wasn’t a willing participant” in the theft of the tools and had only failed to tell the police.
Maughan was given a six month suspended sentence with an £80 victims’ surcharge.
