AY... it’s Happy Days for Cameron King.

The 10-year-old from Grove has just landed a role acting alongside Henry “The Fonz” Winkler in a new TV series.

The show, Hank Zipzer, is adapted from a series of books written by Winkler based on his childhood growing up with dyslexia.

The TV series for CBBC, however, is being shot in Halifax.

The Fonz himself plays Mr Rock, the cool music teacher.

Cameron, who goes to Millbrook School in Grove, will be appearing in one episode as Mason Williams – a shy boy who ends up beating his demons to help Hank give a presentation in class.

Cameron said: “He is a shy boy, but he gets to know Hank. They end up doing a presentation together and Hank, because he has dyslexia, cannot read the paper.

“So Mason ends up standing in for him even though he is really nervous.”

Cameron is already making a name for himself in the acting world: he is starring in two TV adverts – one for the LeapFrog Leappad, a sort of iPad for kids, and another for a Transformers Toy. He also recently appeared in an episode of Miss Marple.

He said: “I love acting because I like expressing myself and it’s nice to feel everyone is pleased with your performance.”

The king of cool...

Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli, better known as Fonzie, Fonz, or The Fonz, was a character played by Henry Winkler in the American sitcom Happy Days between 1974 and 1984.

His catchphrases “Ay” and “Sit on it” have since entered the American lexicon, although in his later years he has become a prominent campaigner for dyslexia awareness.
