A Fellow of St Catherine's College who was a world authority on Chinese art has died at the age of 96.
Prof Michael Sullivan, whose collections were exhibited many times in the Ashmolean Museum, died on September 28.
Museum director Prof Christopher Brown said Prof Sullivan was “one of the foremost scholars of Chinese art since the 1950s”.
He added: “The museum’s Chinese painting gallery was named in honour of Michael and his wife Khoan.”
