PRIME Minister David Cameron has written to three teenagers to show his “admiration” for them trying to save a pensioner’s life.
Eynsham’s Nicky Wishart, 15, Tyler Walker, 16, and Ollie Hinchliffe, 16, pulled Arnold Gwilliam, 83, from a village brook when he got in to trouble last month.
Nicky and Tyler gave him CPR until help arrived. Mr Gwilliam was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital but was pronounced dead later. Last Tuesday his widow June, 85, called for the boys to be commended.
After the article appeared in the Oxford Mail, Witney MP Mr Cameron, left, wrote to the boys. He said: “I know the police too were very impressed by all you tried to do.
“I want to add my thanks and sincere admiration for your kindness and care.
“You should be proud of yourselves.”
