City council opposes the Royal Mail sell off
11:00am Wednesday 2nd October 2013 in News
Councillors have voted to officially oppose the sell-off of Royal Mail.
Plans to float the enterprise on the stock market next month have been unveiled by the Government.
But the policy has a new opponent in the form of Oxford City Council, where Labour and Green councillors voted and independent Mick Haines to oppose the policy.
Only front-bench Lib Dem councillors voted against the motion, which was tabled by council leader Bob Price, pictured.
