10:20am Saturday 21st September 2013 in News
Sir John Major might be best known for his seven-year stint as Prime Minister.
But the 70-year-old was at Blenheim Palace yesterday to talk about his new book – My Old Man, A Personal History of Music Hall.
Sir John’s father, Tom Major-Ball, was a music hall performer and circus artiste and his book tells the story of music hall from Elizabethan times, to its Victorian heyday and decline in the 20th century.
He was appearing at the third day of the Blenheim Palace Literary Festival, which has so far featured Rick Stein, Ruth Rendell and Arne Dahl.
