RESULTS achieved by Oxfordshire’s 11-year-olds in their last year of primary school will be published tomorrow.

Children are expected to achieve a Level 4 in English and maths tests.

Science is judged by teacher assessment.

Melinda Tilley, Oxfordshire County Council cabinet member for children, education and families, said she was “cautiously optimistic” about the results.

She said: “All of our reading campaign has been focused on Key Stage 1 so I am just hoping at Key Stage 2 we will also be doing better.

“I think we will have either stayed where we are or done a little bit better, and I think the reading campaign has had an effect at all levels and woken everybody up a little bit to the potential around them.”

Last year 82 per cent of Oxfordshire children achieved a Level 4 or above in both English and maths.

School by school results will be published in December.
