Christmas on a city centre beach... what a cracker
12:00pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in News
OXFORD can be a weird and wonderful place at the best of times. And now it has celebrated Christmas... in September... on a beach.
Oxford Castle Quarter kicked off its Christmas market – which will take place from November 21 – with a special event at the Big Bang restaurant beach.
The event was to give a taster of what is to come over the festive period.
Oliver Simmonds helped kick things off by pulling a cracker with Big Bang owner Max Mason.
The Headington three-year-old’s mother Mazz Image has been helping run the babies at the beach sessions each week.
She said: “It was huge fun and Oliver had a great time running around. Celebrating Christmas felt weird. The markets have been huge fun and we hope that this will inspire more people to come along to the sanctuary of the Castle Quarter.”
