THRILL-seekers got themselves into a spin at the second night of St Giles’ Fair in Oxford yesterday.
There were clearer skies on the final day of the annual event but organisers said the weather had affected the number of people at the fair.
Last year’s event saw a record turnout of 60,000 on the first day, which saw better weather than this year and came before the schools went back after the summer.
Fair co-ordinator Mick Newman said: “On a good two days you are talking about 100,000 people visiting (in total).
“But I would think this year it would be approaching between 70,000 and 80,000.
“The weather will have made a difference.”
