All the fun of the Leys Fair
10:00am Saturday 7th September 2013 in News
s IT has taken two years, a lot of face paint and a handful of pizzas, but the Leys Fair is back.
Thousands of people are expected to descend on Blackbird Leys park today to take in the free event.
From noon until 4pm, the park will be filled with colour as live bands, stalls and competitions jockey for your attention.
There will also be orbs for partygoers to roll around inside, junior football and culinary courses.
And if that was not enough, the Strawberry Fayre Majorettes, based in Blackbird Leys, will be twirling batons as part of the displays.
Oxfordshire Play Association has organised the event with £10,000 funding from Blackbird Leys Parish Council and Oxford City Council.
Last year it was decided to revive the annual event, which dates back decades, following a two-year absence.
The event was cancelled in 2011 following a lack of interest.
