AN ELECTRICAL fault is thought to have been the cause of a fire which broke out in the Marussia F1 motor racing team headquarters in Banbury.
Fire crews were called out at 4.50am yesterday to the team’s Overthorpe Road factory.
Fire detection systems alerted a 24-hour security guard who spotted the fire in the computer server room.
Crews from Banbury and Deddington found a developing fire in the building’s computer suite.
The incident was dealt with in under an hour and business resumed as normal for the team, which is preparing for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix.
