CLAIRE Williams, deputy team principal of motorsport and engineering firm Williams, which is based at Grove, Wantage, has been elected a patron of the charity F1 in Schools.
The charity challenges students to create their own Formula 1 team, which is commissioned to design, construct and race a miniature Formula 1 Car of the Future.
Ms Williams said: “It will be fascinating for us to see first-hand what the designers, engineers and marketeers of the future come up with year after year."
Chairman Andrew Denford added: “We value the role that Claire can play with her wide-ranging experience within Formula 1 and her natural ability to engage with young people who are passionate about forging a career in the industry.”
