OXON: Marriage records dating back to 1538 at Oxfordshire churches can be found by family history fans at 12 libraries for the first time.
Oxfordshire’s marriage records have been donated to the county’s libraries by the Oxfordshire Family History Society.
The data is of more than 150,000 marriage records from all historic Oxfordshire churches from 1538 until 1837. It can be seen on data CDs held at Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Carterton, Chipping Norton, Didcot, Goring, Henley, Thame, Wallingford, Wantage and Witney libraries.
