AT The Henry Box School in Witney, George Manning, Harry Fletcher, Matthew Fathers and Will Parker arrived in an eye-catching VW for the year 11 prom.

It was held at the school and a special event surprised students.

The RAF Falcons display team parachuted on to the school playing field at the start of the evening, a treat that was organised in secret.

A range of interesting vehicles brought the pupils to their prom, including a classic blue Volkswagen, limos and vintage soft tops.

Dresses were the priority for the girls, who put on a colourful show.

Pupils from John Mason School in Abingdon arrived by boat, buses and on wacky wheels at the Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel.

A custom chopper trike, a Ferrari and a rally car were among the range of vehicles delivering students.

A drinks reception was held at the school before a vintage bus took a number of students to the venue.

The hotel provided a buffet for 135 pupils and non-alcoholic bucks fizz was sipped on the lawn outside.

A disco marked the end of the leavers ball.

Zach Peake proved chivalry wasn't dead as he helped Alicia Dean out of an open-top Morris Minor when they arrived for the leavers’ ball at Wood Green School in Witney.

The ball was held in a marquee inside the school’s sports hall on Wednesday, June 26, and the entertainment included pupils singing, a prizegiving and the crowning of the school’s prom king and queen.

A buffet was organised and popcorn and candyfloss stalls were also available. The evening ended with a disco.

The Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel was the setting for St Gregory the Great Catholic School’s year 11 leavers’ ball.

It was organised by the school’s heads of houses and a buffet was provided for more than 100 pupils along with a disco.

Student Chelsea Stone, from Oxford, said: “It was a really good night and it was nice to spend time with everyone before we all leave.”

The Carterton Community College year 11 leavers’ ball was held at Heythrop Park, near Enstone, with a trip to the hotel becoming an annual tradition for the school.

A sit-down buffet was organised by the pupils, who arrived in a variety of stylish cars and limos.

To help fundraise for next year’s ball, a photo booth was installed in the hotel.

More than 100 pupils and 40 staff attended the event.
