ACTOR Max Irons, 27, an ex-Dragon School pupil, has returned to Oxford to shoot his new film, Posh.

Irons, currenly starring as Edward IV in the BBC drama The White Queen on Sunday evenings, was spotted on set in Magpie Lane and Merton Lane.

The son of actor Jeremy Irons, and actress Sinead Cusack, who own a house in Watlington, he is starring in a film about student indulgence and misbehavior at a fictional University of Oxford dining society.

Posh is an adaptation of Laura Wade’s West End play, which has been seen as a parody of the real life Bullingdon Club attended by Prime Minister David Cameron, Chancellor George Osborne and London Mayor Boris Johnson.

Oxford University spokesman Matt Pickles said: “We hope prospective parents, students and teachers who watch the film will realise that the Bullingdon Club stereotype does not reflect the vast majority of Oxford students.”

Mr Irons, who previously starred in Red Riding Hood, also models for Burberry and Mango.

Lone Scherfig, who won critical acclaim for the films An Education and One Day, is directing the film which also stars Sam Claflin from The Pillars Of The Earth.

Posh is set for release in 2014.
