A MAN who admitted making and distributing indecent images of children has been jailed for two years.

Police officers found a password-protected file titled ‘Merry Christmas’ on Scott Brocklehurst’s computer following a raid on January 9, 2011. It contained 1,746 images.

There were 31 still images and 13 videos at level five – the most serious – and 556 still images and 96 videos at level four.

Amanda Bostock, defending, said Brocklehurst, 21, of Cowleaze, Chinnor, had a crushed testicle and began to look at pornographic websites to establish what was going on with his own body. She added that he had been seeking help.

Judge Ian Pringle said: “I would be failing in my duty if I were not to pass a prison sentence.”

Brocklehurst was given nine months for each count of making indecent images of children and two years for distributing indecent images of children, all to run concurrently.

He was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
