A DAD-OF-TWO suffering from depression took his own life, an inquest heard.
Daniel Button, 35, was found hanged in the garage of his Banbury home by his brother, Ricky Shorter, on January 12.
His two sons were due to see him at his home in Wood Green that weekend.
Mr Button was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but was declared dead, Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court heard last Tuesday.
The inquest was told he had a history of depression and had attempted to take his own life before.
A statement from his GP, Dr Angela Alcock, at Horsefair Surgery, said: “He had longstanding problems in his life.”
These included suffering injuries – including a broken femur – from a car crash, having a long history of cannabis use, undergoing a total hip replacement, and depression.
She added his death was a “complete shock” because he had not visited his GP recently.
Oxfordshire Coroner Darren Salter said: “There is evidence of intent to take his own life. That, therefore, is my verdict.”
