IF you had to be stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why?

I would like to be stuck in a lift with Ruth Elizabeth Davis, best known as one of our greatest actresses, Bette Davis. I would like to tell her that I have her entire film collection on DVD.

What is your biggest fear?

Growing old alone and losing my independence has to be my biggest fear. Not sure how I would cope alone and not working!

Do you have any superstitions?

I am a very superstitious person, not walking under ladders, not opening umbrellas indoors and not crossing knives are just a few.

If you could have only one song on your iPod, what would it be and why?

Move Closer, by Phyllis Nelson, which got to number one in 1985.

What’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought, not including property?

I decided to buy a brand-new top-of-the-range car a few years ago as I had been driving around in rusty bangers and hired cars. I had never been one for posh cars but I love it to bits and it has a sound system second to none!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Always, listen, watch, be yourself and allow your unique creative attributes to develop naturally, the respect you gain will last forever.

What’s your indulgence?

A good old black and white Ealing film, log fire, glass of wine, curled up on a sofa with a brick of milk chocolate, heaven!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

I am a workaholic and perfectionist, I wish I could discipline myself not to be so picky about the things I do and find time out occasionally, I suppose it’s an occupational hazard.

Where are you next going on holiday?

I have relatives in Adelaide and Sydney who keep pestering me to visit, so in October this year I am doing just that and looking forward to it.
