ARTIST Katie Smith is displaying her ceramic landscapes at the Gallery on the Wey in Upwey near Weymouth.
Using a variety of hand building techniques, Katie creates ceramic landscapes rich in texture and detail, From small individual pots to large stand alone sculptural pieces, each one reflects part of Katie’s life journey and memory of place.
The unique surface of the work is created with a combination of oxides, slips and matt glazes, generating a strong sense of depth, intrigue and atmosphere.
You can see Katie’s exhibition at Gallery on the Wey, Church Street, Upwey, between now and June.
