A man has been charged with three distraction burglaries in Rickmansworth and St Albans.
Bernard Lovell, 48, of no fixed abode, was arrested at around 7pm on Tuesday (April 2) in Rickmansworth.
Police had been called to an address in the town where Lovell allegedly told the victim he was investigating a leak in the property before stealing money from a handbag.
He remains in police custody assisting police with their enquiries at this time.
