ANDOVER Ladies HC are at virtual full strength for Sunday’s trip to the Channel Islands for their eagerly-awaited Investec EHA National Ladies Vase semi-final against Guernsey.
A squad of 13 plus coaches, supporters and chair Pam Sorensen fly out from Southampton at 11am for the 2pm push back and confidence is high.
Press Officer Jacqui West is naturally excited at the prospect of a place at Beeston HC, Nottinghamshire, in the final.
“We are looking forward to it and after our year it would be fantastic to reach the final and put our club on the map.” she told the Advertiser. “We are strong and are only missing Karen Winnett, who is expecting.”
Jacqui admits to knowing little about their opponents who are a representative side but they are bound to be strong as their men have also reached the national final.
In the other semi-final West Bridgford Monarchs take on Oxted Ladies, who beat Andover last season.
The Ladies have one more league game, on April 13 where they will be looking to complete an unprecedented unbeaten league campaign with Laura Molloy and Anika Drage both among the goals.
