Kezia to release debut EP on Easter Monday Cornwall’s rising singer songwriter Kezia will release her self-titled debut EP digitally on Easter Monday 1 April.
Kezia describes her music as ‘Drifting between Folk and Blues by the way of Country (with an English accent)’.
At just 21 years old Kezia has played some of the major South West festivals including Relentless Boardmasters, Leopallooza and the Eden Sessions, she was also chosen to be one of the few Cornish musicians who performed in Olympic Park for London 2012.
The ‘Kezia’ EP has 6 tracks and is a blend of finger picked guitar and bluesy piano songs complemented perfectly by her exceptional voice. Kezia has been working alongside local producer and engineer John Cornfield (Muse, Supergrass) to create her first release. Tracks from her EP can be streamed via Soundcloud.
Artwork for the ‘Kezia’ EP came from Bude based up-cycle artist Hannah Wheeler, and striking portrait images of Kezia by Penzance based Kneehigh Theatre photographer Steve Tanner, making this EP a truly home-grown Cornish affair.
Kezia can be seen gigging more frequently around the country, playing original songs from her EP and a repertoire of many more, along with a few stand out covers including Joy Divisions – Love Will Tear Us Apart, described by The Bristol Evening Post as ‘A sheer joy’.
Having recently performed at Rich Mix London for Kernow in the City, London’s annual St Piran’s celebration of art and culture, and soon to be playing the legendary Moles in Bath, word is spreading fast over the Tamar about this extraordinary Cornish talent.
There will be an opportunity to see Kezia perform a special evening concert on a grand piano on Thursday 9 May at The Performance Centre, Falmouth University. More details TBA.
