Researchers have announced a breakthrough discovery of a new, safer vaccine against foot and mouth disease.
The work was led by Prof David Stuart, professor of structural biology at Oxford University, and Dr Bryan Charleston of the Pirbright Institute in Surrey.
Research was also carried out by staff at Harwell’s Diamond Light Source, where Prof Stuart is a life science director.
