EASTER TREATS: Sarah Thompson and Claire Kingsbury, of Plus One Personnel, with Caroline Howson, of Bicester Foodbank
CHILDREN whose families are struggling this Easter will get a treat thanks to generous firms in North Oxfordshire.
Recruitment firm Plus One Personnel launched an appeal earlier this month asking local businesses to donate chocolate treats to Bicester and Banbury foodbanks.
On Monday the firm handed over about 90 Easter eggs in Bicester and about 250 in Banbury which will be handed out to families in the next few days.
Janet Ray, of Bicester Foodbank, said: “I think people will be just overwhelmed. They were overwhelmed at Christmas with the presents we gave for children, but we’ve never done Easter eggs before in a big way, so it will be great.”
Claire Kingsbury, director of Plus One Personnel, said: “More and more families are finding it difficult to make ends meet.
“The Foodbank provides emergency supplies for families in need and we were delighted to help this worthy project as part of our commitment to help the local community.”
Sarah Williams, manager of Banbury Foodbank, said: “Times of celebration like Easter can put extra pressure on families and individuals who are already struggling to put food on the table and there just isn’t enough money in the pot for extras like Easter eggs for their children and special food that many of us would take for granted.
“We are grateful to Plus One Personnel for their generous donation to this worthy local cause.”
