Boffins invent liver lifesaver

A PORTABLE machine which breathes life into livers outside the body has been created by scientists at Oxford University.
The device can keep the organ alive for 24 hours or more at body temperature and it could double the number of livers available for transplant.
Two patients are currently said to be recovering well after taking part in a trial.
