Man charged with threatening Theresa May

A MAN has been charged with sending threats from Oxfordshire to the Home Secretary Theresa May.

Mark Peter Walker, 39, has been charged in relation four offences – three relating to Ms May – under the Communications Act 2003 and Criminal Act 1977.

Walker, who is formerly from Kent, is charged with phoning Crimestoppers from Oxfordshire about a bomb threat at Ms May’s residential address.

He is also charged with using a “public communication network” to send a message on November 14, 2012, which was offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing.

It is also alleged that on December 29, 2012 he sent a letter from Oxfordshire which conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient or to any other person.

Walker will appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 25.
