Great Milton artist branches out for Dorchester exhibition
1:30pm Friday 15th March 2013 in News
TREES are brightening up Dorcester Abbey after the launch of a new exhibition.
Great Milton-based painter Caroline Meynell, 67, is hosting her exhibition Tree of Life at the Abbey in Dorcester.
The showing of 13 paintings will continue until Wednesday.
The Mary Moser Award 2012 winner said: “I’ve always had a fascination with trees and I decided to develop this into a project, so I went off in search of trees. The idea first came to me in 2004 and I didn’t finish the project until 2011.”
She said the abbey was the ideal location for her exhibition.
She said: “It’s a wonderful setting, it looks really lovely and the colouring really goes with the setting.”
The exhibition is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and from noon until 5.30pm on Sunday.
