Civic award for Old Fire Station

A city venue which protects the homeless and promotes the arts has been recognised in a national award ceremony.
The Old Fire Station, in George Street, was given a community recognition place in the 2013 Civic Awards.
The £3.5m venue, which reopened in 2011, was selected by the Civic Awards Trust due to its positive social, cultural, environmental and economic benefit to the local community.
The awards celebrate outstanding architectural environmental projects.
