People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

  • Ian Wylie, 35, of Old Road, Headington, admitted drink-driving on January 27 in Bickerton Road, Oxford. Had 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £110 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Given a 14-month driving ban.
  • Daniel Ryan, 25, of Luthur Street, Oxford, admitted stealing meat worth £102.73 from the Co-operative store in Banbury Road, Oxford, on December 17, meat worth £100 from the same shop on December 11 and meat worth £100 from the same shop on December 23. Also admitted two counts of breaching a conditional discharge and failing to surrender to magistrates on January 17. Community order made with a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and nine-month supervision requirement. Told to pay a victims’ surcharge of £60.
  • Adam Nash, 34, of Wood Farm Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted failing to surrender to Abingdon Police Station on October 26. Fined £100 and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Lee Pullen, 30, of Burgan Close, Oxford, admitted drink-driving on January 29 in Dorchester-on-Thames, near Wallingford. Had 43 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted driving without insurance and without a licence on the same date. Fined £100 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs. Given a 36-month driving ban.
  • Qasim Hussain, 27, of Hurst Street, Oxford, convicted of stealing an Apple iPad from Thames Valley Police in Sidney Street, Oxford, on November 20 and two bottles of Courvoisier brandy worth £51.98 from Sainsbury’s in Cowley Road, Oxford, on October 26. Community order made with a 28-day curfew requirement, six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and nine-month supervision requirement. Told to pay £351.98 compensation and £50 costs.
  • Archie Riddell, 44, of Morrell Close, Kidlington, Oxford, admitted sending a false electronic message to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety on October 19 in Kidlington. Given absolute discharge.
  • Terrance Kerrigan, 48, of O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a bottle of YSL perfume worth £80 from Debenhams in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on January 22. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay victims’ surcharge of £15.
  • Emily Goodman, 35, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, admitted stealing groceries worth £187.25 from Tesco on January 6. Also admitted failing to surrender to magistrates on February 20. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.
  • Fabio Caires, 30, of HMP Bullingdon, Patrick Haugh Road, Bicester, admitted stealing meat worth £50 from Aldi in Oxford on November 19. Given a seven-day prison sentence and told to pay £50 compensation.
  • Younis Ward, 19, of Nye Bevan Close, Oxford, admitted possessing a solicitor’s letter and a Yorkshire Bank letter for use in fraud and fraud by false representation in an attempt to gain £2,850 in cash at The Money Shop, Cowley Road, Oxford, on October 4. Also admitted committing an offence while subject to a community order. Community order made with a domestic violence programme requirement for 90 days and three-year supervision requirement. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Arthur Beukus, 47, of Lower Grange Farm Cottage, Little Chesterton, near Bicester, admitted drink- driving on January 22 in London Road, Bicester. Had 97 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Community order made with a 120-hour unpaid work requirement and told to pay victims’ surcharge of £60 and £85 costs. Given a 25-month driving ban.
  • Amanda Cox, 19, of Garner Close, Carterton, admitted aiding in the theft of candles, a cat lead and silly string from the 99p Store in Witney on January 22. Also admitted stealing clothing worth £121.50 from Marks and Spencer in Witney on the same date and clothing worth £11.96 from New Look in Witney also on the same date. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs.
  • Richard Murray, 31, of Cornish Road, Chipping Norton, admitted causing criminal damage to a door handle worth £549.25 at Banbury Police Station, Warwick Road, Banbury, on October 21. Community order made with a four-month curfew requirement and told to pay £549.25 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Ashley Poulter, 24, of Sussex Drive, Banbury, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke violence in Broad Street, Banbury, on November 10. Also admitted committing an offence while subject to a 16-week suspended sentence. Given an eight-week prison sentence.
  • Matthew Shepherd, 34, of Prescott Avenue, Banbury, admitted drink-driving on January 18 in Southam Road in Banbury. Had 119 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Community order made with a 200-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay a victims’ surcharge of £60 and £85 costs. given 24-month driving ban.
  • Luke Watson, 20, of Cropredy Hill farm, Cropredy, Banbury, admitted drink-driving on January 20 in Bath Road, Banbury. Community order made with a 200-hour unpaid work requirement and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given a 24-month driving ban.
  • Thomas Thatcher, 19, of Bradshaw Close, Steeple Aston, Bicester, admitted causing criminal damage of unknown value to a car panel on September 23 at Weeping Cross, Bodicote, Banbury. Also admitted assault by beating at the same time in the same location. Community order made with four day activity requirement, two-month curfew requirement and 12-month supervision requirement. Told to pay £150 compensation.
  • Brian Goodman, 57, of Charley Road, Carterton, admitted assault by beating and causing criminal damage to a glass patio table and shed door lock in Bramble Bank, Witney, on October 21. Given two-year conditional discharge and made subject to retraining order. Told to pay victims’ surcharge of £15 and £150 costs.
