Michael Mitchell, of Herschel Crescent, Littlemore, admitted receiving £3,488 of stolen copper belonging to Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Chilton at an earlier hearing.

The 40-year-old was due to be sentenced for the offence at Oxford Crown Court yesterday but his case was adjourned until Tuesday, March 26, to allow Mitchell to obtain legal representation.

He was given bail.

The offence took place at TR Rogers and Sons scrap metal dealers, Nuneham Courtenay, between November 30, 2012 and December 14, 2012.
