Trapped: Police apprehend motorists using park-and-ride lane
DRIVERS illegally using the park-and-ride lane were fined as a police clampdown was launched on Botley Road.
Officers spent an hour-and-a-half near the turning for the Seacourt park-and-ride facility, spotting drivers who used the park-and-ride lane and then merged with non-bus-lane traffic.
Spokesman Rhianne Pope said: “They were there from 8am to 9.30am. They gave out a lot of advice and issued 15 fixed penalty notices.”
The 15 drivers will now have to pay £30 fines.

That's all that's needed to keep the lanes separate meaning if your in the Park and Ride lane you cant go anywhere else then the Police can do some proper policing.

Why should drivers who obey the rules be disadvantaged by self-centered individuals?
These are the kind of people who, on dual carriageways and motorways, upon seeing advance warning of a lane closure, keep in the lane until the last second and then force their way into the queue.
Yes, its important the police attack 'real crimes' but they are also there to prevent breaches of the peace, which selfish driving can cause, via road rage.
We cannot blame the police if they don't have the resources they need to do a comprehensive job.

Using the bus lane to jump the queue is selfish and anti-social.
