Girl insists she punched man after he asked for sex
11:00am Wednesday 6th March 2013 in News
A 16-YEAR-OLD girl yesterday insisted she had punched a man in the face when he asked her for sex.
The witness was being questioned by defence barristers in the Oxford sex exploitation trial at the Old Bailey.
Known as Girl 5 as she cannot be named, she claims she had sex with four of the nine defendants between the ages of 12 and 14.
The crimes are said to have been committed between January 2009 and January last year by Assad and Mohammed Hussain, and Zeeshan and Bilal Ahmed. The teen told the court on Monday she had seen defendant Akhtar Dogar with the gang and she hit him when he asked her for sex.
Andrew Jefferies, defending Akhtar Dogar, agreed the witness may have seen his client in the Cowley Road area.
He said: “The only dispute between us is this: it’s not accepted that Akhtar had asked you for sex. But you say it did.”
The witness said he had, but when asked if she could remember where and when the incident took place she said she could not remember.
When questioned by Anjum “Jammy” Dogar’s barrister Lee Karu she denied being mistaken about seeing his client at the Nanford Guest House with Mohammed and Assad Hussain.
She said: “He was there.”
Today the witness is expected to be cross-examined by barristers for Assad Hussain, Mohammed Hussain, Zeeshan Ahmed and Bilal Ahmed.
All nine men – including Akhtar Dogar, 32, of Tawney Street, East Oxford, Anjum Dogar, 31, of Tawney Street, East Oxford, Assad Hussain, 32, of Ashhurst Way, Rose Hill, Mohammed Hussain, 24, of Horspath Road, Cowley, Zeeshan Ahmed, 27, of Palmer Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, and Bilal Ahmed, 26, of Suffolk Road, Maidenhead – deny all 79 charges which include rape, trafficking and sexual assault charges. The trial continues.
