Children make space for appliance of science

THE world of space took a step closer for these youngsters.
The Museum of the History of Science, in Broad Street, Oxford, held a planetarium fun day, with interactive activities aimed at giving the children a chance to make their own mini planetariums – while learning more about the solar system.
Martin Leach, 37, from Stanford in the Vale, brought along his children Nancy, eight, Grace, nine, and Barney, five, to the event on Saturday.
He said: “We had a thoroughly good time. They had been out in the morning at a Science Live event in Oxford learning about the planets, so they then came along and made the solar charts.
“They were very happy, they just love all that sort of stuff.”
Elena Wilcox, from Bletchingdon, took her son Sebastian, seven, to the event.
Mrs Wilcox said: “He had a lovely time, he was very happy.
“He’s just got a telescope for Christmas so we thought we would start him on the planets.”
