No return yet to fire-hit flats

NORTH OXFORD: Four households are still unable to move back into their homes after a flat fire last week.

The fire forced residents in the three-storey block of about 30 flats in Hawksmoor Road, Cutteslowe, to flee their homes.

A man and woman who were arrested for arson with intent at the Oxford City Council flats have been released on bail until March 21.

Spokesman for Oxford City Council, Louisa Dean, said: “Two households have viewed and accepted their temporary accommodation while repairs are being carried out at their flats. Two households have decided to remain with their own families.

“We are continuing to work with the affected families and provided any support, help and advice where needed.”
