Hair-rasing fun nets cash for diabetes charity
SCHOOLCHILDREN coloured and styled their hair in weird and wacky ways to raise money for Diabetes UK yesterday.
Pupils from West Oxford Primary School in Ferry Hinksey Road compared hair during the day.
Isaac Molan, centre, from Ferry Hinksey Road, took the chance to put his hair into dreadlocks.
The 11-year-old, who has type one diabetes, said: “It was good. When I got to school my friend sprayed it red as well. Some of them put lots and lots of gel in and made really good mohicans.”
His father David Molan, who also has type one diabetes, said: “It is a lot of hard work for him.
“There are constant blood tests for measuring his glucose and he injects insulin every meal. But he is coping fairly well.”
Each child brought £1 into school in aid of charity Diabetes UK, as part of its national Mad March Hair Day.
