United snap up Davies

Oxford United have signed former Crawley Town midfielder Scott Davies on non-contract terms until the end of the season.

Scott, 24, comes from Aylesbury and made three senior appearances at Reading after coming through the youth system with the Royals.

He enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at Aldershot Town where he played an important role in their promotion into the Football League.

After further loans at Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol Rovers he joined Crawley Town on a permanent basis in the summer of 2011.

He played 22 times for Crawley last season as they won promotion from League Two.

However, with first team chances rare under new boss Richie Barker, Scott was released and so joins the U's as a free agent.
