Bampton back in the frame over new Downton
9:20am Friday 1st March 2013 in News
THE stars of ITV period drama Downton Abbey were back in Bampton yesterday to film the fourth series.
Emmy-nominated actress Joanne Froggatt was spotted, dressed in black, among dozens of crew during the filming yesterday. Bampton’s library and church, St Mary’s, are used as backdrops for the drama.
The show, which follows the Crawley family and their servants, is penned by award-winning writer Julian Fellowes and stars Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern.
In the last episode, on Christmas Day, central character Matthew Crawley, played by Dan Stevens, died in a car accident after he had celebrated the birth of his son.
Filiming is due to continue in Bampton today.
