MEN accused of raping and prostituting children were “always” seen with young girls, the Old Bailey heard yesterday. A young woman told the Oxford sex exploitation trial her dad warned her aged nine to stay away from defendants Akhtar and Anjum Dogar.

The 20-year-old, who lived at care homes with complainants known as Girl 2 and Girl 4, said: “They always used to be with younger females.

“The majority of them would be white girls. They were usually a lot younger than them.”

She also told the jury she saw Anjum “Jammy” Dogar being forceful with a girl and gripping her arm as he tried to kiss her.

The brothers liked to think they owned the Cowley Road area, the court heard.

Choosing not to give evidence from behind a curtain, the witness also described a time in 2006 when Girl 2 “fell through the door” of their children’s home with her jeans and knickers around her ankles.

She said: “She said she had been plied with alcohol and was forced against her will to have sex with more than one different bloke.”

She also said her friend – unnamed complainant known as Girl 3 – told her in 2008 that “bad things had happened”.

She said the teen told her she had been raped by a man called Jammy, adding: “She went on to say that it was not only that one person.”

The trial also heard statements from a policeman and a social worker who dealt with the witness known as Girl 4 who claims she was raped and sold for sex by brothers Mohammed and Bassam Karrar between the ages of 11 and 15.

Pc Brent Jackson, who spoke to her in January 2008, said she had cried as she told him about the abuse.

Reading his statement, prosecutor Neil Moore said: “(Girl 4) mentioned she was in a relationship with a male she called Mo. (She) then said she had been treated very badly by him and he had done some terrible things to her. She described she had been raped by him in an address in London.”

But the officer said he believed the girl had changed her mind and did not want to speak to police further about the allegation.

The court also heard a social worker at the girl’s care home had wanted to foster Girl 4.

He described how she had started crying after receiving phone calls while on a Lake District caravan holiday with staff and youngsters from the home.

Mr Moore, reading the statement, said the social worker answered the phone when a caller named Mo came up on the screen. The caller asked for Girl 4 but when the social worker refused he threatened him, the girl and her mother.

The care worker said he wrote a report for other staff on the incident, the court heard.

All nine defendants deny all 51 counts totalling 79 charges.

The trial will continue on Monday after legal arguments today.
