Learning how to manage money

STUDENTS in Oxfordshire are to be taught how to manage their money. Abingdon and Witney College is taking part in a national initiative next week that aims to improve budgeting, saving and spending.
More than 1,500 students at the college’s Abingdon, Witney and Common Leys Farm campuses will take part, along with up to a million others nationwide.
The college’s Oxfordshire Rural Skills Centre at the Common Leys campus has also booked presentations from Barclays staff.
College assistant principal Fiona Morey said: “While our main focus is on employability skills and making sure our students are ready for the world of work, it is important to us that we play our part in helping them develop strong life skills too.
“Dealing effectively with money issues is one of those skills.”
