PENSIONER Beryl Cooper is over the moon after winning £200 in the Oxford Mail Loyalty Card prize draw.

Mrs Cooper, who lives with her husband Jim and their son Phillip in Kempson Crescent, Littlemore, said it was the first Mail competition she had ever won. Mrs Cooper, 79, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I read it on Saturday. I phoned up to make sure, and when they told me I had definitely won I was over the moon.”

The couple are planning on moving to a flat or a bungalow in Rose Hill and said the money could go towards the move.

Mrs Cooper has lived all her life in Oxford.

She worked for John Allen and Sons Iron Works, Littlemore Hospital and Exeter College before she finally retired at 73.
