“COME and have a go if you think you’re good enough!” That’s the challenge being laid down to aspiring musicians by the city’s biggest rock venue.

Having hosted shows by some of the world’s top artists, the O2 Academy Oxford is now inviting local musicians, of all abilities, to show off their talents at a new open-mic night.

The After School Club session is being launched at the Cowley Road venue next Monday.

Katie Herring is the venue’s promotions manager.

She said: “This is a chance to get along some local talent and for them to play the O2 Academy. “Anyone is welcome to come and showcase their skills, have a bit of fun and maybe even get booked for the main stage.”

She added: “It’s an acoustic night, so just bring along what you’ve got, rock up and play – whether it’s covers or your original songs.”. The session starts at 7pm. Entry is £2 on the door.
