Blenheim exhibition offers a look behind the scenes
1:00pm Friday 15th February 2013 in News
FROM Harry Potter and Gulliver’s Travels to fashion shoots for top magazines, Blenheim Palace has long been a backdrop for directors and photographers.
Now visitors can see behind the scenes of filming at the iconic Woodstock venue in a new exhibition.
Costumes and props from productions which have visited the stately home have gone on display for its Lights, Camera, Action exhibition.
Education officer Antonia Keaney said: “Since the early 1950s, Blenheim has been used as a film location. “What we are trying to do is give anecdotes of what happened behind the scenes. These are the things that people don’t hear about.”
The house has starred in films including 2007’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 1999’s Entrapment starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones and 2008’s Young Victoria with Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend.
The exhibition runs daily until Easter Monday, April 1, from 10.30am with last entry at 4.45pm. Tours are at noon and 3pm apart from Sundays.
