Woman put on make-up while driving
11:00am Friday 8th February 2013 in News
The police operation
A DRIVER was caught applying make-up while driving with no hands on the wheel yesterday.
The woman was fined and given three penalty points as part of a two-hour operation carried out by police in Botley Road, Oxford.
Officers from Abingdon traffic unit were stationed at the old Halfords store at 8.10am. They also caught 22 motorists – on average one every five and a half minutes – using mobile phones. And a further 17 were spotted not wearing seat belts.
Two vehicles had no road tax, one had no MOT, one was seized as the driver had no licence, and three people were fined for excessively tinted front windows. All those caught were fined £60.
Pc Mark Pilling, Oxfordshire Road Safety Enforcement Officer, said: “Some people might think that the slow speeds are an excuse for committing these type of offences, but there is no excuse.”

Waste of an iPad really. ;)
Truth is, the drivers who crash hard are the ones chatting with their mates whilst navigating country lanes or back streets, before losing control and hitting a tree, or in the case of Manchester last night, other vehicles - with deadly consequences.

Look out for the Red Hyundai taxi on the Garsington roundabout in the morning - around 8am... Three children sitting in the back.
The driver has an unusual interpretation of lane markings, and always crosses the hatchings at the top of the Westbound bypass entry heading straight for the 2nd lane. The traffic on the bypass usually gives way with much flashing of headlights.

If you're not paying attention to the road and all of it's users then leave it to the rest of us to enjoy and take the bus.

I saw the driver lighting her fag and the head was facing down for about 4sec or more why trying to light up she came over onto our side of the road but lucky as i noticed and moved over in time but with us doing 55mph and she was doing the 50 plus it could of been a different story.
