A SOCIAL worker has told the Old Bailey how young teenage girls at a children's home told her they had been forced to have sex with Asian men.

The woman was giving evidence at the trial of nine men charged with involvement in a child sex exploitation gang in Oxford.

Alleged victims Girl 1 and Girl 2, who cannot be named, stayed at the children's home where the witness worked in 2006.

The social worker said the pair would run away together.

She said Girl 1 had told her she was having sex with men and she was afraid of them.

The girl told her the men gave her drink and drugs, the court heard.

She also said the girl, 14 at the time, would cut herself at the home.

She said: "She was quite aware she was putting herself at risk and things had happened to her in the past.

"But she almost felt like she couldn't not do it."

She said: "She would say they are not the sort of people to mess with. That's why she wouldn't give their names or any information about them.

"She said they were Asian and would drive fast cars."

The witness said Girl 2 told her she had been "forced" to have sex with seven different men.

Another alleged victim, known as Girl 3, is due to give evidence tomorrow.

The nine defendants deny all 51 counts.

The trial continues.
