AN OVERTURNED cement lorry which shed its load closed a busy route around Didcot yesterday.
Police were called to the Hawksworth roundabout on the A4130 after the lorry crashed shortly before 1pm, dumping part of its load of cement on the carriageway.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Antonia Bairstow said the driver was not seriously injured.
She said: “Traffic was diverted through Didcot and Appleford to avoid this part of the A4130.
“It took several hours to remove the cement lorry and clear the cement.”
South Central Ambulance spokesman James Keating-Wilkes said staff were alerted to the crash by police and the driver was treated at the scene.
He added: “One man was treated by our staff — he was walking wounded and did not need hospital treatment.”
The road remained closed during the rush-hour last night.
