TWO Oxford United players paid a special visit to one of their biggest fans yesterday.
Striker James Constable, right, and club captain Jake Wright visited Bryan Foster at the Isis Nursing Home in Cornwallis Road, Cowley.
Mr Foster, 80, is originally from Garsington, was a parish councillor in the 1960s and also ran the boys’ football team.
He has been an ardent football fan since he was a small boy.
His love of Oxford United started when OUFC were still known as Headington Football Club.
He has been a resident at the care home since suffering a stroke.
United’s community officer Peter Rhoades-Brown said: “When we went in to see him he was delighted.
“He was so thrilled for us to be there.
“It was on the back of a 3-0 hammering on Saturday and a lot of people at the care home gave the boys a bit of stick.”

In this world of cruelty its good to read about those who do good, who take time to make others feel good.
My hat is raised to these two young men for taking the time to visit this elderly gentleman.
