No support for solar farm plan
10:30am Tuesday 29th January 2013 in News
Plans for a huge solar farm in Oxford’s Green Belt have not been supported by planners at South Oxfordshire District Council.
Planning officers discussed the possibility of installing 50,688 panels on farmland just outside Barton with environmental consultancy company ADAS.
A planning application has not been submitted yet but pre-application advice was sought from planners.
ADAS are acting on behalf of farmer Robert Brooks, who owns the Wadley Hill Farm land in Bayswater Road.
Planners are not backing the current plan because of the impact it could have on Green Belt land.
Last night neither ADAS nor Mr Brooks were available for comment.
